Affliction has made the right decision by moving this fight to a later date with a stronger card and there big investment Fedor Emelianenko. The ticket sales were not doing very well and may be better suited back in Anaheim where they had a strong showing for ‘Banned’.
According to COO Michael Cohen, Fedor Emelianenko will return to ‘Day of Reckoning’ against (TBA) on January 17, 2009. So now the question is will Arlovski and Barnett still go at it, or will one of them face Fedor. All of the original fight card is scheduled to compete, with some little changes here and there.
Vice-President of Affliction Tom Atencio has a big announcement to make at the HBO PPV boxing match this Saturday headlined between Juan Manuel Marquez vs Joel Casamayor. He has said “it will change the dynamics of mixed martial arts. Not just nationally, but globally.” It has been rumored to possibly be a partnership with HBO and Golden Boy Productions, and will announce the future of the organization.
