The two have agreed to fight at welterweight (147 lbs). Marquez weighed 129 lbs. for his fight against Pac Man last year and will need to put on some pounds for this fight as he moves up two weight classes. Well see if the added weight and muscle slows down Marquez against the also speedy Mayweather. Marquez will have all of Mexico on his side and is fighting on Mexico’s Independence week (El Grito de Independence). This will no doubt be a great fight as two champions go to war. I guess we will find out if Marquez will lose any speed or power moving up weight or we will see the old Pound for Pound king Mayweather still as fresh as ever. Also on the card is the rematch between Rocky Juarez (28-4-1) vs. Chris John (42-0-2) for John’s WBA featherweight title.
