Strikeforce Predictions – Carano vs. Cyborg

For the Main Event we have our Carano vs. Cyborg prediction page

Gilbert Melendez vs. Mitsuhiro Ishida

Pats Prediction

  • In this fight we have a rematch between Gilbert “El Nino” Melendez and Mitsuhiro “Endless Fighter” Ishida. The first meeting ended with Ishida taking a unanimous decision victory and handing Melendez his first of only two losses.  El Nino will look to avenge that loss and in return take home the Strikeforce interim Lightweight title.  This will be no easy task as Ishida is a crafty veteran.  In the end I see Melendez using his size and strength to control Ishida and take a unanimous decision victory.

Renato “Babalu” Sobral vs. Gegard Mousasi

Pats Prediction

  • This fight was salvaged from the fall of Affliction’s “Trilogy”. I’m glad to see it was not, I was looking forward to this fight.  Babalu has looked superb after being dropped by the UFC, racking up four wins with only one going to a decision. He will have his hands full with Gegard Mousasi.  Mousasi has run through his opponents and is on an impressive 12 fight win streak.  This fight is tough to call due to the fact that they are both at the top of their game and very well rounded. But I see Mousasi’s crisper standup being the difference and pulling out a third round KO victory.

Jesse Taylor vs. Jay Hieron

Pats Prediction

  • Jesse “JT Money ” Taylor will be filling int for Nick Diaz who failed to show up for his drug test.  Jay Hieron just went from big underdog to big favorite.  Hieron has the advantage everywhere the fight may go. Not much to say here but Jay Hieron wins via early second round KO.
