Predictions for UFC 99

For the main event we have our Rich Franklin vs. Wanderlei Silva prediction page

Cain Velasquez vs. Cheick Kongo

Pats Prediction

  • This has the potential of being fight of the night.  I was happy to see Kongo replaced Herring here and think this fight draws more interest.  Velasquez has been said to be the future of the HW division, yet still to be tested.  Kongo without a doubt a step in the right direction.  This fight is extremely important to both fighters as a loss will send them towards the back of the line.  I see Velasquez having the advantage in most areas and overwhelming Kongo via first round Ground & Pound.

Ben Saunders vs. Mike Swick

Pats Prediction

  • Expect to see fireworks in this match up between the “Killa B” and “Quick” Swick.  Saunders will have his hands full in Germany facing his toughest opponent to date. They are both great on their feet and have solid ground games.  I see Saunders keeping his undefeated streak alive pulling off the upset victory.  His Jeet Kune Do style will prove too difficult for Swick to deal with and score a third round triangle choke.

Marcus Davis vs. Dan Hardy

Pats Prediction

  • Its now time to settle all the trash talk and let their fists do work.  Hardy has had a hard time dealing with Davis growing a fan base he believes he doesn’t deserve and has called him a fake. Davis has grown hatred towards Hardy and has all intentions of displaying a beat down.  Hardy is very confident riding on a five fight win streak and will do his best to keep it alive in Germany.  I see Davis putting on a clinic of accurate, crisp, and powerful strikes earning him a second round KO.

 Davis vs. Hardy Odds

Spencer Fisher vs. Caol Uno

Pats Prediction

  • Uno is back in the UFC after his loss to Hermes Franca back in 2003.  He has been fighting back in Japan at K-1 Hero’s and Dream.  He will need a win if he wants to stay in the Octagon.  Fisher an extremely well rounded fighter coming from the Miletich camp will look to take out Uno and keep his two fight win streak in tact.  Uno will look to take this to the mat and look for a submission.  The problem with that is Fisher has fought in 26 mathces and has never been submitted.  I don’t see it happening against Uno and Fisher will take a unanimous decision win.
