Bellator 162 is going to be a fight night to remember, it is going to be special and the excitement is already in the air. Why so? well, for one, the fight card is looking absolutely mouth watering and secondly, this is going to be the first time Bellator happens in the state of Tennessee.
The highlight or the headliner for the night is going to be a clash in the middle weight division and there is already a lot of hype about it? not only do we think it is going to live up to the hype, but it is also going to exceed expectations. Both fighters are coming back from a little bit of a break, albeit for very different reasons, and both of them are hungry for a victory as them have a lot riding on the fight and lot to prove.
Former middleweight title holder Alexander Shlemenko is going to come face to face with Kendall Grove. They are both favorites among fans and you can expect both fighters to have massive support going into the fight. Shlemenko about an year ago was slapped with a ban by the California Athletic Commission after he failed a post fight drug screening test for performance enhancing drugs. He had just won a fight by technical knock out, but thanks to the drug test and its outcome, the joy was short lived.
On the other hand, Kendall Grove had all but forgotten that he was a mixed martial artist after he returned to his hometown of Maui, had children of his own and became a total family guy. Grove had said in an interview that he felt like Bellator had used him and just left him to dry, and so he went home and his priorities changed after having kids. However, he is back and confirmed to be fighting and his focus is back on being the best version of himself.
The co – main event is also going to be a spectacle to watch and bet on as heavyweights Bobby Lashley takes on Josh Appelt. Lashley is a cross over athlete, he is not just any professional wrestler, he is the current champion of the TNA. Furthermore, he is looking to be in outstanding form has he has five Bellator fights under his belt and five victories. The first one maybe tricky to call, but when it comes to Lashley, we have to admit that it is a little bit of a no brainer – you can put your money on him without thinking twice.
Another fight that the fans just can’t seem to wait for is the debut of welterweight Kevin Ferguson Jr. who is the son of the late Kimbo Slice. Ferguson Jr. simply by his title has an incredible reputation to live up to. Even though he lacks experience, he is a beast of an athlete, a physical specimen and we think he might start his Bellator career with a victory. Against all odds, we would surely put a bet on him.
