The two fighters originally met in the ring back in May of 1993, with Jones Jr. winning a unanimous decision. This fight would have more excitement behind it had it taken place some years ago. Now both fighters are over 40 years old and we will not witness a rematch with there full potential behind it. The stock in this fight fell even more as Roy Jones Jr. was defeated by Danny Green via first round TKO back December. Hopkins is coming off a two fight win streak over Kelly Pavlik back in 08′ and Enrique Ornelas in December both via unanimous decision. I think this is Hopkins fight to lose, “The Executioner” has more fight left in his body and I believe he would like revenge with a KO. But I see him beating the counter puncher Jones via unanimous decision. Although is someone does win by T/KO the purse is split 60/40 instead of 50/50.
