Pats Prediction

This may be the toughest fight to call on the main card. Both fighters are very well rounded and have faced excellent competition over the years. American fans have not seen or heard alot of Mousasi and he plans on making a statement with a big win over Babalu. Babalu since leaving the UFC has cut through the competition placed in his way and captured the Strikeforce LHW title. I see a close fight through the first two rounds and in the third Mousasi’s crisp punching will earn him a Knock Out.

Vitor Belfort vs. Jorge Santiago

This is another great match up between Vitor Belfort and Jorge Santiago. As of late Belfort has looked superior and even caught the attention of Dana White and the UFC. The American Top Team fighter Santiago is riding a 9 fight win streak. Santiago is well rounded but lacks the striking and power Belfort possesses. Santiago will need to get this fight to the ground and keep Vitor there working for submissions or ground & pound. I believe Santiago’s training and activity over the years will wear on Belfort and stop his run. I see an upset victory for Santiago via unanimous decision.

This fight is sure to be a slug-fest. We will get our moneys worth here as these two try to knock each-others heads off. Yvel will prove to be too much for Buentello. He will use his speed and power to end Buentello’s night via second round KO.

The first televised PPV fight is between Takanori Gomi vs. Rafaello Oliveira. Gomi will be making his return to fight in America looking to put on a good show. The Fireball Kid once at the top of the 155 lb ladder has dropped down as of late losing two his last three fights. Oliveira relatively unknown to most has strung together a solid record of 8-1 with the biggest fight of his career in Gomi. I believe Affliction is giving Gomi a gift in Oliveira in hopes of a good win and introducing him to new American MMA fans. Gomi needs a big win over Oliveira to get his stock back up in the right direction. I see Gomi taking care of business early via first round KO.
