Stephan Bonnar vs. Jon Jones
Stephan Bonnar, one of the breakout stars from the original season of The Ultimate Fighter and one half of the “Greatest Fight in UFC History”, is set to face off with super rookie Jon Jones, who has somehow achieved a professional record of 7-0 after making his debut in April of 2008. Odds are -170 Bonnar / +140 Jones currently
Clearly, Jones has had a busy first year. He captured six professional wins against unknown competition between April and July of last year before making his UFC debut in August, where he earned a unanimous decision against the talented Andre Gusmao. Primarily a striker but with some ground skills too, Jones is going to probably want to box against Bonnar, who has good wrestling and submissions.
The difference in this fight is going to be experience and training. Bonnar has been in a number of wars with good opponents, and trains at the illustrious Xtreme Couture gym in Las Vegas. Jones has thusfar relied on his natural abilities to garner him wins, but against a more skilled fighter with more experience and better preparation, he is finally going to meet his match.
