Marcus Davis vs. Paul Kelly
Marcus “The Irish Hand Grenade” Davis (14-4) is set to make his fifth consecutive UFC appearance in the U.K. against Paul “Tellys” Kelly (7-0) on his home turf. Even though Kelly has the home field advantage, it should not play much to his gain, considering Davis is very comfortable in the U.K., winning three of his last four fights there.
Davis a former professional boxer, is very well rounded and will be comfortable anywhere this fight may go. He has fast hands and punching power, which is misleading to most fighters as they may try to go for the takedown against him. This is more than acceptable for Davis, being that his ground game is very underestimated. Davis has exceptionally slick submissions with seven of his fourteen wins coming via submissions, along with five KO victories.
Paul Kelly is a talented, up and coming English prospect and is undefeated in his MMA career. He won his UFC debut at UFC 80 over fellow Englishmen Paul Kelly via unanimous decision. Kelly has four KO’s to his credit, with only two fights seeing past the first round. Kelly is a solid striker with a strong ground and pound game.
The problem here is Kelly will try to stand with Davis and exchange shots over a much higher caliber striker. Davis never lets the crowd down and will bring the fight right to Kelly. Davis will be looking to deliver a devastating KO and will be successful with a second round knock out.
